Ko Ngan Yuaan.

This was something of an interlude during my stay in Ko Tao. Ko Ngan Yuaan is pretty close to Ko Tao, in fact Abok was convinced that we could swim it. I, however, was not so confident. Besides, I heard something about sharks in this area. That's it in the background. Its expensive to stay there, even by North American standards, but definitely worth it.

Ngan Yuaan consits of two islands, joined in the middle by a narrow stretch of beach. Looks kinda like a dumbell from above. The sand wasn't nearly as fine as the sand on Ko Tao and it was littered with jagged, broken shells.

The water, however, was incredible. You can only enter one of the bays, so the rest are kept in their natural state. We paid a guy to take us there and pick us up in two hours time.

I wish we had told him to come get us later, but there was no way of knowing how good the island was and once on it, there was no way of contacting the water taxi driver. Ah, to live in an age without cell phones again.
