February 6th, 2002. Welcome again.

It's a wonderful spring day here, today, which wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary, were it spring. I can't get over the weather here. It's nice, but not nice enough to ruin all other climates for you. That's the sort of thing that happens when you live in the Carribean or in Cali. Once you return from the trip, all you can do is grumble at the shitty weather that you have to put up with in TO.

It rained last night, so the trees and the ground are still a little damp. Gives the air a little bit of a nip that makes it all the more enjoyable. It's nice to just sit outside and breathe today. Apparently, the cat agrees with me.

I should probably change the "about" section on this new site. I no longer have my laptop, rather I have to use this. It's not too bad, but I have to wait until my days off or the unGodly hours of the night to use it. That's why I don't update as much any more. That and also because I haven't done anything worth sharing the past few weeks anyway.

The common area has been unusually quiet the past few days, which is nice, but it's starting to feel weird. Ever see that episode of Star Trek: the Next Gen when Beverly Crusher gets sucked into some warp bubble and people just start disappearing off the Enterprise? Odd. I suppose I won't be too surprised if I see people walking around in their PJ's, talking into golden buttons on their breast now.

This is a sign outside of a restaurant I saw a few days ago in Jiugaoka. I was immediately drawn to this place from the opposite end of the street because Sinatra tunes were seeping out the cracks in the windows and doors. I didn't get a chance to look inside because there was line of people waiting to get in. Seems like a cool place.

I will defintely try it sometime, if not for the food, then for Ol' Blue Eyes.

Got my hair cut today. I've given up on trying to ask for what I want. Even the pictures I bring are useless. I just go in now, accepting the fact that I will not come out looking the way I want. Lots of the guys here cut their own hair, to save money. I was thinking about doing that, since I end up looking weird anyway. That's one advantage of being a foreigner. If you look odd, people just attribute it to the fact that you aren't from around here.

I've become rather apathetic to my appearance here, mainly for the reason stated above. I know it's not a good thing, but the problem with apathy is that you just don't care enough to do anything about it.
