December 31st, 2001. Things that go bump in the night.

It's my second last day here in Toronto. Man, I'm sad. Frances found this great Italian place near Eglintion and Avenue Rd. called 7 Numbers. We braved the frigid weather and headed there for a wonderful dinner. The service was a little slow, but the good food more than made up for the wait. We went back to my place afterwards to sit about for a bit and just enjoy each other's company. It's going to be really hard to leave again...I love being with her so much.

At about 1:30am, as Frances was about to go home, Fran's phone rang. Doris and Andrew were waiting on my driveway! They came to pay me a visit. How nice. =) I've been so shitty at keeping in touch and seeing my friends this Xmas season, that they decided to come search me out instead!

I met Doris through Frances, as they were highschool friends. Turns out Doris lives about a 5 minute walk away from me. I've known Andrew since 4th grade. He also lives about a 5 minute walk away from me, and only 2 minutes from Doris. They were both in the same art class at university. Weird how everyone is connected.

We sat in my living room, conversing in whispers and hushed tones, which too frequently exploded into bursts of laughter and fits of giggling. Much of the conversation between Andrew and I revolved around the fact that my laptop is totally fried and completely useless now. Shit.

See, I'm incredibly lazy normally, which is why I am so surprised at myself for maintaining this website as long as I have. I love writing, but inspiration comes so rarely now. *sigh* I knew this was too good to last.

So, it looks like the end of Brian in Japan for now. Thanks for tuning in. I appreciated all the feedback and support from you guys. It was part of what drove me to continue writing.

But wait. One hope remains. My friend says that he may be able to repair it, and to leave it here with him for now. He'll send it once he fixes it. I'm not getting my hopes up, but cue the dramatic music and keep your fingers crossed anyway.

Doris was in the midst of protesting as I took this shot.

Here is a group shot, just before everyone left at about 3am. Andrew's head is comically disproportioned to, well, everything. Must be the ego. =P Just kidding.

Frances requested that I write about her new hat. She got it for Xmas from Vicky, a school friend of ours. Fran seems bent on getting the matching scarf and/or mitts. In fact, she likes it so much that she often pretends to be cold, just so she can wear it around indoors. You'll notice that she's the only one dressed for outside, while still sitting in my living room. Yeah, that's normal.
