December 30th, 2001. Uh oh. Well, it's the day before New Year's Eve, which means I'm going to be back in Tokyo in a few days. My parents and Frances have been totally spoiling me with attention since I have come back and now I don't want to leave. Japan is fun, but there's no place like home. If only I had some ruby slippers and a talking scarecrow... I am having a lot of trouble with my laptop and I don't think that I am going to get it fixed before I have to go back to Japan. This leaves me the option of either buying a new one, or leaving it here until it can be fixed, then have it shipped back to me in Tokyo. I'm opting for the last choice, but that of course means that I will not be able to update for a while, which really sucks. I hope that I don't lose my will as I am waiting for my computer back in Japan. This is a very, very quick sum-up of my time at home. I didn't even take pictures of most of what I did, and I'm kicking myself for it now. |

L to R: Rob, Fran, Me and Chiu at my friend Tim's house on the 24th. They came to pick me up at Pearson. This is not helping my narcissism. |
The trio happily marched me out of the airport with their signs held high. I felt like Mao Tse Tung. Chiu and Rob have sworn never to leave the country again, lest I have to come pick them up at the airport. |

Ok, this is Xmas day. My cousin Tony and his fiancee, Tara, crammed this enormous box full of good Canadian food for me to take to Japan. Bless their hearts. The night before, my uncle Paul (Tim's dad) gave me a load of Campbell's Chunky soup. I am ever so thankful to have people like them in my life. |

More post-Xmas mess. |
Fran with her sister's dog, Chester. She's trying to get the sunglasses on him, but he's more interested in smelling her knee. |

The
28th. My sister took this picture of James, Dhruv and I at a Chiu Chow
restaurant near my house. These
guys went to school with my sister. I later met them in my JKD class. |
Dhruv schooled my ass while boxing and James damn near knocked me unconscious with an elbow to the head, while in the mount. The instructor, Pete, had to drag me outside and pour water on my head to get me lucid again. |
